How to Apply Blush - Blusher Applying Tips

After facial make up, the next thing that comes on the face is the blusher. Blusher can be in powder form as well as cream form. Blushers are available in powder, cream or liquid and in a wide variety of tones. Liquid and cream blush should be applied before powder. Generally most women prefer to use a powder blush as it is much easier to apply. Makeup Blushers add shape, and deftnition to your face, giving your complexion a wonderful, warm and youthful glow.

The colours of blusher should not be very much darker than your skin tone.  Smile widely with your lips closed. Your cheek  naturally raise; apply rouge on the raised area and fade out gradually towards the hairline. Never apply rouge too close to the nose and too low on the cheeks.

Tips for applying Blush

Blush Applying Tip 1 : Never forget the purpose of applying blush. Many women mess up on blush application because they think that redder is better - not so. Redder actually means faker and the point of putting on blush is to look as if you are blushing, not like you're wearing blush. So always aim for a healthy, vibrant glow, not clown cheeks. If you have a hard time telling the two apart, consult a friend before making a public appearance.

Blush Applying Tip 2 : With both powder and gel/cream blush, one thin layer is usually enough. At night, you can apply a second (very thin) layer for a more dramatic look. No more than that!

Q: MY BLUSHER NEVER LASTS.HOW DO I PROLONG THE DURATION OF THE SAME COLOR ON MY CHEEKS?

A: After applying blusher, dust with pressed powder. Now pat a damp cotton wool ball to set the color on your cheeks. This will make the color last longer. Blush should always be applied in a subtle fashion, but not so subtly that it disappears altogether. Choose a little darker blush (avoid red bones) and apply to the cheekbones in small doses and apply at least twice. To determine the 'right spot' for application: stare straight into the mirror and place a finger directly below your eyeball on your cheekbone. That is the spot for the blusher to go on, blended towards the hairline
